On June 30th 2015 the Software Alliance Wales project will come to a close. Since 2010 this ESF funded £13.4m initiative has strived to help Welsh businesses maximise their potential for exploiting Information Communication Technologies (ICT).
The project was devised to provide support to the software development sector, to address the skills gap, create competitiveness and solve key business challenges in Wales. The team at SAW believe that the project has gone a long way to achieving all of these goals.
SAW has helped over 1000 Welsh businesses and 2900 IT professionals develop new skills, grasp emerging technologies and discover new and smarter ways of working via over 400 workshops and training courses. 320 Student development projects have been facilitated, helping students gain real-world work experience and providing growing businesses access to talented young IT professionals found on this site.
In association with our accreditation partner CompTIA, 56 Welsh IT businesses are reaping the benefits of becoming Trustmark accredited. By assessing and improving their processes from the ground up, many of them are now hitting new heights of productivity and succcess.
The project has contributed significantly to a Wales that’s on the way to being fully engaged with emerging tech: where a vibrant IT community attracts and develops talent, and businesses in every field are thriving at the hands of technology.
All that's left to say is a huge thank you from all of the Software Alliance Wales team for all of your support. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and working with so many great business professionals and companies and would like to wish all our collaborators a prosperous future.
